There are so many products out there which claim to cure hair loss or at least slow it down. I had some experiences with a few of them but there are tons more out there and it is so hard to track them down. It takes time and patience to really see if they work. If you are just starting to go bald then some of these definitely a must for you. But if you are like me than you need something miraculous. And, I think I just found it.

I would appreciate your feedback on these if you ever had experience with any of them. Submit or comment please.

So many hair products out there, yet I am still bald and shine like the sun!

You get experienced with the hair loss treatments when you are bald this long. I have seen so many products come and go but some are still around. I am not saying they are all bad. Some actually grew yellow baby hair but none really did grow thick hair in my case. They just develop them so perfect that they only grow little hair.

You look in the mirror after a few weeks and oh my god, looks like they are all coming back! But they are not, they are usually small, thin, tiny hairs; custom made for balds so that we buy more and more. If something is going to be called cure for hair loss then it should regrow hair, don`t you think?

I tried a lot of things; from Finasteride to 101 Chinese lotion, Rogaine to laser comb, Ervamatin to Follicare (no longer available) and various saw palmetto products.

Cure Hair Loss – Treatment Options

Ervamatin:

I used Ervamatin for almost 2 years straight, even bought the shampoo. Why? Because, when I first started to use, yellow hairs emerged all around my head, so many of them. I really thought this was it. But they never got stronger, all yellow baby hairs. Who needs that? I am sorry but it just did not work for me.

Bottom line; I see no reason to use it myself. Minoxidil or Procapil is much suitable for my situation.

Follicare:

To me, the best one was Follicare but the company no longer exists. I really did grow some hair but I am not sure if it was the rogaine or follicare because I used them both at the same time with finasteride (a bald cocktail).

I just loved the sensation follicare created. At first, it was like someone sprayed wasabi on your head. Wow, but you get accustom to it over time and it becomes a habit. Then you need your wasabi on your head every night and day. It is like punishing the follicles cause they can`t grow. And, you spray on them, they deserve it.

Bottom line; this was a good product and I was really happy with the results. It did grow real new hair in my case.

Procapil:

As I mentioned earlier, I am doing this test on a procapil based product. There are so many products that includes procapil, be aware that some do not even mention the percentage used. The one I am using has 3% in it (3% for men and 2% for women). Originally produced by the French company Sederma, procapil reduces the effect of DHT on hair follicles and improves blood circulation on them. It is fully natural with no side effects stated yet. Used twice a day. Available for both men and women. What is great about is that no matter how advanced your hair loss, it is still effective on all areas of your head. I will not talk about this much in here since I do that all around this website.

Bottom line; check out the photo timeline and decide yourself.

Minoxidil (Rogaine):

We all know that minoxidil is good at fighting hair loss. It definitely keeps the hair on your head which is crucial if you just started to lose your hair. Now, the 10% version is also available. I always used Rogaine with other products such as propecia or follicare. If your balding is advanced and you are looking for major regrowth then I do not think it will help you to reach that goal. The longer the hair stopped growing, the less effective it will be. Up to 7 in 10 men who apply minoxidil say they regrow some hair 1http://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments/hair-loss/features/how-prevent-balding. Rogaine comes in liquid or foam for people allergic to propylene glycol. Used twice a day. Available for both men and women.

Bottom line; I used it for a little more than a year. It makes a change. But it does not give you a full head of hair. It is focused more on protecting what you still have and what you had lost recently.

Saw Palmetto:

Indispensable for hair loss victims, this small palm is a favorite ingredient of so many hair regrowth drug producers. It is said to help defeating hair loss. Saw palmetto is in fact good for hairs, proved itself over time. If you are having hair loss then you should really meet this effective plant extract. I used it on and off about 2 years or so. I am not sure on its effectiveness if used solely on its own rather than using it combined with additional treatments such as minoxidil or procapil.

Bottom line; it is a proven hair loss fighter.

Fabao 101 Hair Tonic Series:

Do you know how long I used these hair tonic series? 4 years! I used to buy them from China Town and applied day and night almost religiously. I can still remember the smell and that tiny brush came out of that box. That box was not even that gold color when I first started using it.

Dr. Zhang-guang Zhao sure won many gold medals but the 101 series never stopped my hair loss. Can you believe this has been around almost since 1970`s? Hair loss should have been an ancient myth if this was working. OK, I am not Asian, maybe this does not work on me genetically. I really doubt myself cause it is still selling strong and not even cheap. It is probably me, has anyone regrow hair with this?

Bottom line; I want to invent the time machine just to go back to the day that I first bought this in the 1990`s to punch myself in the face reaaal good.

Finasteride:

Mostly known as the brand name Propecia or Proscar. Finasteride is originally developed to help curing the prostate cancer, defeating hair loss was a side effect. But there are some other side effects as well that scare most men (reversible):

  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Ejaculation disorder
  • Decreased libido

Three things that no man need. However, I used it for over a year and never noticed any of these. So, I kept using it but then the idea of taking pills forever really came onto me and I stopped. I like topical solutions better.

Bottom line; it definitely improves hair quality and helps regrowing new hair but those side effects are not for everyone (probably for no one).
